Are you the ultimate green lover where the plants are always shining or do you have a devastating effect on everything that grows and blooms? Perhaps you take very good care of the plants yourself, but the potting soil is the culprit. That is why we are happy to brush up on your potting soil knowledge.

1. The shelf life
Did you know that potting soil usually only contains nutrients for one or two months? After that period it is a good idea to add plant food. Don’t feel like that? Then use special soil to which fertilizer has been added. That way you don’t have to immediately switch to plant food.

2. Potting soil or garden soil?
Potting soil is different from garden soil. Garden soil is heavier and potting soil is also a collective name for different types of soil or soil. The name says it all: garden soil is used for large outdoor plants and potting soil is used for plants in a flower pot or planter.
